Our selenium supplement is made from Food State Selenium yeast, which has been documented by the European Food Standards Agency as being the safest and most bio-effective form of Selenium.

About our selenium supplement

We offer selenium as a Food State Selenium supplement providing 100µg of elemental selenium per tablet. Food State Selenium yeast is documented by the European Food Standards Agency as the safest and most bio-effective form of selenium. 

Our Food State Selenium has all the associated amino acids and other phytonutrients that naturally occur when this mineral is found in food. Food State Selenium is effectively a natural, organic form of the mineral and recognised by your body as food.

Selenium daily dosage

The NRV for selenium is 55µg. The average good diet may contain only 35µg of selenium per day, but a total daily intake of 100-200µg daily is recommended for optimal health. This means most people need to supplement with 120-180µg daily to achieve this. 

Long-term total selenium intake from all sources should not exceed 400µg per day.
